Research activities focus on the investigation of elementary chemical processes of complex biological and chemical systems, in particular, electron transfer, interfacial processes, and photoinduced reactions. These fundamental topics crosslink the various research projects that also cover methodical aspects. We are predominantly employing static and time-resolved vibrational spectroscopic techniques. Further experimental approaches include UV-vis absorption, fluorescence, and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopies, electrochemical techniques as well as biochemical methods. The experimental studies are complemented by theoretical methods.
